HKU Stroke was honoured to collaborate with CIS Free Clinic and Helpers for Helpers in the health check and consultation for local domestic workers at the Chinese International School last Sunday. We hope to raise awareness of the importance of stroke prevention and management through various health assessments, such as measuring anthropometrics, blood pressure and atrial fibrillation, and blood glucose and cholesterol levels. At the event, Dr Gary Lau Kui Kai, Clinical Associate Professor of HKU Neurology, explained some common symptoms and risk factors of stroke and prevention and management through favourable lifestyle changes, such as a healthy diet. We also provided free health and nutrition counselling.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the participants who actively participated and helped make this event successful.
