Our Heartfelt Thanks to Chinese International School for Inviting Professor Gary Lau, Director of HKU Stroke, to Address the Class of 2026 at Their Graduation Ceremony

HKU Stroke have been honored to partner with Chinese International School, along with other schools and organisations, in recent years to organize free health screening initiatives, raising public awareness about health and stroke prevention. Members of the graduating class actively participated in these activities, experiencing firsthand that beyond technology, human connection and compassion remain irreplaceable.

At the graduation ceremony, Professor Lau shared personal insights drawn from his various roles in life:

1. Find your why, and dream big.

2. Take care of your body, and your mind.

3. Be yourself, and stop comparing.

4. Do not be afraid to try, and do not be afraid to fail.

5. Walk together, and stay humble.

6. Remember your roots.

He also encouraged students to “Be the change you wish to see in the world”.

We wish all graduates continued courage to explore, dedication to contribute, and the spirit to impact lives—to carry forward “To Seek and to Serve”, and to lead with love and compassion.
