17th International Symposium on Healthy Aging


HKU Stroke is beyond honoured to be participating in the 17th International Symposium on Healthy Aging, organised by the Research Centre of Heart, Brain, Hormone & Healthy Aging of HKU. We are delighted to share that Dr. William C.Y. Leung, a Resident Specialist and Member of HKU Stroke, chaired a talk that featured insights from Dr. Kay Cheong Teo, Deputy Director of HKU Stroke, on Blood Pressure Management in Intracerebral Hemorrhage. Dr. Gary Lau Kui-kai, Clinical Associate Professor of HKU Neurology and Director of HKU Stroke, also shared his insights on Vascular Cognitive Impairment. Additionally, our research team members, Dr. Carman Cheung, Ms. Mandy Chan, Dr. Olivia Wang, and Dr. Preeti Virwani, presented their abstracts on recent findings on cerebrovascular diseases. We are particularly thrilled to share that Mandy Chan received the Young Investigator Award for her poster titled 'Mapping the Gut Brain Axis - Shotgun Gut Microbiota Species Predicting Cortical and Subcortical Volume in Healthy Adults’.


Our commitment to advancing our research on cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases remains unwavering as we strive to promote the prevention and treatment of stroke.
