A Study shows Prehospital Stroke Assessment Shorten the time for Ischaemic Stroke Patients Receiving

已更新:2022年8月4日

A study jointly conducted by the University of Hong Kong, Queen Mary Hospital and the Ambulance Service of the Hong Kong Fire Services Department, showed that if a patient with a suspected stroke is in an ambulance on the way to the hospital, he or she should receive a "pre-hospital stroke assessment" by an ambulanceman who has completed relevant training. Early notification of assessment results by ambulance staff prior to the patient’s arrival at hospital is very helpful in assisting medical staff to identify potential ischemic stroke patients who are suitable for thrombolytic therapy before they arrive, and shortens the time to appropriate treatment.
