HKU Stroke’s study revealed that 73 acute stroke patients attended Queen Mary Hospital in the first two months of the pandemic (January 23rd to March 24th 2020), with an average 60 mins delay between symptom onset and arrival at hospital compared with 89 acute stroke patients for the same period last year (154 vs 95 mins)
During the COVID-19 pandemic, stroke patients and the general public avoided seeking medical care and consequently delayed treatment.
