Amidst the storms that follow the onset of a stroke, survivors navigate a challenging road to recovery. Walking alongside them every step of the way is the dedicated mission of Prof. Gary Lau.
Gary has continuously led healthcare professionals and students with utmost professionalism and a human-centred spirit. Beyond clinical care, he has driven multifaceted initiatives—from leveraging artificial intelligence to develop the rehabilitation app "Smart Rehab", to integrating Augmented Reality (AR) into medical education. He also remains committed to inspiring the next generation of medical students to unlock new possibilities in healthcare.
Through the dedicated efforts of his team, HKU Stroke, stroke prevention and management have been actively promoted beyond academia and into all corners of the community.
