🧠 Could Stroke Be Related to the Veins?

Did you know that cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST) is a rare cause of stroke and is more commonly seen in younger stroke patients under the age of 55? Common symptoms include severe headache, double vision or partial loss of vision, limb weakness, and even altered consciousness.


Unlike conventional arterial strokes, CVST is not associated with the common vascular risk factors such as hypertension, diabetes, or hyperlipidemia. Instead, it is typically triggered by infections or inflammatory processes, coagulation abnormalities, medications, or hormonal changes.


If you suddenly develop severe headache or any other warning symptoms of stroke, you should seek immediate medical attention, even if you are normally in good health. Early diagnosis and treatment can significantly improve the chance of recovery.
