HKU Stroke Director, Prof. Gary Lau, was honoured to be invited to Guangzhou from August 28 to 30, 2026, to attend the 28th Academic Conference of Neurology of Guangdong Medical Association & the 18th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Academic Conference of Neurology (GDMA 2026).
This conference aimed to strengthen academic exchanges in neurology within Guangdong Province, enhance standards in neurological research and clinical care, and provide a professional academic platform for neurology professionals.
We were delighted to present at this academic conference on the topic of "Revolutionising acute ischaemic stroke care: the 30-year journey and beyond," where we summarized key developments and breakthroughs in stroke treatment over the past three decades, including scientific research, clinical experience, and practical applications of artificial intelligence. Through this, we also shared our team’s dedication and achievements in promoting public health education, such as the community outreach of the "BE-FAST" campaign in the community and our ongoing efforts to establish a community-based support network.
We sincerely thank the organizer, the Guangdong Medical Association, for their meticulous preparation and warm invitation, which enabled us to engage in in-depth exchanges with top peers and experts. We look forward to continuing to deepen regional collaboration and connections, working hand-in-hand to advance stroke prevention and treatment, and bringing hope to more patients!
